It’s the trend that keeps on giving and doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon: quilted everything.
This subtle take on the puffer coat seems so fresh and new that we can’t get enough of it. We first started seeing quilted items a few years ago, and it looks like they’re staying around a little longer.
Because this trend has been around for a while, I recommend investing in quilted pieces that are more traditional (like coats) than trendy (like bags).
Here are my top quilted pieces for Fall 2021:
COS. Longline Quilted Gilet
Have you ever wanted to wear a real-life sleeping bag around town? Now is your chance!
This long vest can make anything look chic including sweatpants and a sweatshirt. For a weekend look, pair this vest with jeans and a turtleneck sweater. For a more work-appropriate look, wear wide-leg black pants and a colored sweater under the vest (opened).
J.Crew Quilted Cocoon Puffer in Chambray
What’s better than a denim jacket? How about a quilted denim jacket? J.Crew has reimagined their famous Cocoon coat to be the ultimate weekend accessory: a comfy, snuggly coat in everyone’s favorite material.
I’d wear this coat with a cashmere sweater and camel-colored chinos for brunch on a crisp day. To work, I’d pair it with a navy blue suit and white tennis shoes for an unexpected high-low combination.
Anorak Quilted Short Sleeve Jacket
Equal parts funky and functional, this short-sleeve jacket is bound to make a statement. The color options (mustard, olive, and white) force you to be a little bold and I am loving all the layering possibilities here.
For a quick trip to the mountains, I’d pair it the yellow one with a light denim button-down shirt and dark dark denim pant. For more urban environments, I’d wear the olive vest (open) with high-waisted, wide-leg khaki pants and a crisp white button-down.
Quilted jackets aren't going anywhere this Fall and now is the perfect time to get on board (if you haven't already!).
